The other night I was out for a ride in the dinghy. The BF9.9DK0 SHA was running fine, then it began to slow down, then all it would do was to idle, okay, slow trip back to the dock. Next morning I discovered the throttle cable near the carb had separated near the adjustment ferrule. I made a bracket to hold the cable in place (back in the 6 sided adjustment ferrule). When I open the throttle the cable goes slack near the throttle. Is there a spring that holds tension on the carb to prevent the cable from going slack, or is there a spring in the cable to do this? The carb throttle plate moves fine, manually. Or what did I miss?
