I have a 2001 BF9.9, and as I tried to start it after 5 years of storage the starter engaged the flywheel, then immediately spun freely for a second, then nothing. Upon further inspection I found that the starter overrunning clutch didn't move up and down freely on the armature, and the fuse had ****n. I replaced the fuse and lubed the clutch, but now as soon as I connect it to a battery the fuse ****s. My guess is the starter magnetic switch, what do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated. On the bright side though, it did start on the first pull.
