Have a 75hp Honda (BBAL) with a bad tilt motor. Looks like I have to remove the motor from the boat to remove the tilt motor?

You can loosen the steering cable, nut on tilt tube and engine mounting bolts and slide one side of transom bracket over enough to gain access to trim motor bolts.

I also need to replace the tilt motor on my BBAL 75 hp. Do you need to support the weight of the engine in order to slide the transom mounting bracket over?

I just replaced my tilt motor. It was only a 30 min. job. You do not need to remove the tilt tube and, raise the motor and unbolt a transom bracket.

All you have to do is rotate the motor up until the ram is at the top of the stroke, support the motor with the swivel locks, remove the pin which attaches the main ram to the motor, and rotate the motor over center on the transom to support it's weight. Then the entire hydraulic system will move enough to access all four tilt motor bolts. Piece of cake.
