as the title states need a bf50 gearcase,mine is cracking,inner nut is distorting,but still runs and works perfectly.the crack is 3 inches from the oil housing on the prop end,would this ever **** up in the water? catostrophic damage?
Check the serial number and go to Honda Outboard Parts to find parts needed.
If the crack extends into oil cavity of gearcase then it could cause gear damage.
