hello. I have a honda four stroke. It's either late 70s or early 80s. engine #b75402295. the "main valve" in the carb is missing. How can I aquire one? is there an alternate carb I can replace it with? nobody seems to know. can any one tell me about the motor?

Hi Jim, this sounds like a late 70's 7.5hp twin (white motor). This is a special downdraft carb. There's not one you can replace it with to my knowledge. Your best bet is to just get a parts carb on ebay. I saw one go the other day for around $35. Most of the guts for these carbs are discontinued from Honda. If you don't have any luck on ebay, let me know, there are a couple names I could give you of guys who *might* have the parts you need.

These old white motors are getting harder to come by. The engines ran well, but it was really a terrible salt water motor, things rusted and corroded away and many of them have already taken a trip to the scrap yard. Good luck.
