Default Kill Switch for 1985 Bf75

Hello, I picked up this motor a few weeks back and have been out a couple of times, since this year and model does not have a kill switch to stop the motor should I go overboard (heaven forbid) Does anyone know if I can install one or a method which acheives the same result?

Yes you can install a safety lanyard in place of the push-button kill switch. Honda actually discontinued the button and offered the lanyard instead. I don't have the part number off the top of my head, but probably still available since the newer 8hp motors also used that. You can find the part number on the boats.net site, I think the section of the diagram is called "safety switch" or something like that. I have also seen a couple of these on ebay, OEM Honda kits people were selling. Expect to pay $70 - $100 for the lanyard switch kit... Good luck.
