Default Idle issues.

I have a 2004 20hp tiller. I just replaced carb and it runs great at wot. Idles for a few min then sputters and shuts down. How do I adjust the carb. I also have to choke every time I start the motor. There is a screw that only rotates 180 deg. What does this do. Any help would be great. New tank, lines, and gas.

Probably need to turn pilot screw on front/top of carb out until idles good.
Yes adjust valves at 400 or if hear valves making a ticking noise.

It only turns 180 deg. Should this be done in water. Has no effect on hose. I just bought carb from you and don't want to damage it.
Which cylinder is #1 for top dead center.
Is this right. .10 intake .18 exhaust I don't have the manual.

Yes it will need to be in water, the cap with stop on it may can be removed from screw to do adjustment.
#1 cylinder is top one.
Valve clearance 15-19mm Intake and 21-25mm Exhaust.
