Default Honda flush adapter questions

Have a 2006 Honda BF15 that was overheating. Replaced the thermostat and impeller and bought the flush attachment. All good except when using the flush attachment, no water comes out of the intake screens. Seems like the water pump will not be flushed unless water comes out of the lowest screens. Is there something wrong or is that okay?

Manual says not to run the engine with the adapter or with ear muff. How well does the water pump get flushed with the adapter? Seems like I should be able to run the engine with the water connected to the adapter. Why is that not a good idea?

John

No you can't run the engine on flush adapter, there is a small amount of water that get to water pump but not enough to run(can burn up water pump).
