Default Honda BF 130 gear linkage to lower unit

Hello to all, I'm having a problem with the gear linkage on the BF 130 Honda. It wont shift from neutral to forward or reverse. This progressively got worse to not going into gear at all. It's a 04 motor. I have a Clymer shop manual and been through it. The linkage in question is between the last rod above the sump that goes down to the lower unit . I have disconnected the linkage on the motor and the remote control works smooth. The control cables are good.
I dropped the lower unit thinking this was the problem, not so. I need help, in order to repair this problem. PS There is no Honda marine service in Bermuda. If I could find a diagram of the linkage parts so they could be on hand when the power head is removed. Thanks for any information that leads us back on the water. Chris

yes, after removing the lower unit . I found the diagram that shows the parts in between the upper and down shaft. looks like the motor needs to be removed in order to replace the " shift shaft ". Thinking hard about repowering this boat.
26' Pro Sea cat SLC any thoughts? The BF 130s when running work good.

Maybe repair this motor and sell both, use the money to buy a pair of BF 150's or thinking about E-Tec 150s. What do you think?

OK, not mush feed back, I must be the first one to go through this lol. Found the diagram and it shows a off set cogs under the base plate. There's about 8 bucks worth of o rings and washers and cerclip witch must have broken and jamed the shift rod going down to the lower unit. Plan on pulling the power head today.

Hope this is not too late.

You may want to check out this series of posts. Honda 2004 BF150 Shift Rod stuck

It is the same basic mechanism.

You may not need to pull the power head if you get lucky.
