Hi I'm looking at buying a pair of 1999 40hp and the guy who's selling said that they are 25" longshaft so I was wondering if they came in 25" and can it be converted to 20" shaft which I need. Is this something I could do or need a pro?

Thank you
Roger

I have never tried it. Some Honda do have an extension housing above lower unit that might could be removed but you would have to change drive shaft, shift shaft and water tube to the ones on a 20" model.
