My 82 year old father bought a 25HP outboard (4 stroke) engine a few years back (2008) and last year salt water got into the 3 carburettors (don't ask me how he managed it) and now they are blocked.
Is it easy to free/clear the carburettors - or should we be looking at changing the whole assembly? He was quoted 'silly money' by some local dealer (not Honda dealer) to change all 3 carburettors
At the very least, you're going to have to rebuild all 3 carburetors. If they're really corroded, replacement might be the only option. I'm curious as to how salt water got in them.
