Default Carb Rebuild Question for an EXPERT

Honda BF 90 LRTA 1987 BBBL-10002140 ----- Carburetor Components

KEI HIN Carb housing 40A[A] KA12
Piece in question is the Idle tube (Clymer Manuel B757-2 pg. 228, pic 39 part 14) Idle tube Honda part # 16150-ZWI-000 code 4897781 THE BIG QUESTION ???
Does this tube have a hole all the way thru of some size ????
One end will take a large wire approx. 7/8 the length....The other end feels like there is a step to a center depression about 1/2" in from the end. This can be felt with a fine wire. The big question is should this be a clear hole and if so what diameter should it be? The number on the side of the tube is 40E. Does that mean it was drilled with a number 40 drill or maybe .040 in dia.???? Can't imagine something would get past filters and plug this !!!
Thanks for the Help in Advance
Charles

Default Carb Rebuild Question

Problem solved...yes there is a hole thru the idle tube. The hole is .0160 or a # 78 drill Came to this conclusion by disassembling another carb while waiting for an answer. The tube was plugged with a spec of ??? Could not push out with a wire so I went the drill route, actuly had to drill it out. Yes I sized it with the other tube, no I did not enlarge the hole. Now to find a new O'ring that will work on the end of the tube.
