Default Broken Steering Arm/Tube

Since this is my first post on here I feel like I should do a little introduction...

Name is Tommy, I bought an 88 18' Tiderunner cuddy cabin with a 99 Honda 115 a couple months ago for too low of a price to show on here It was definitely a project though. Took a month of hard work to get everything right and in the water. Live in Tacoma, WA and been fishing in the Puget Sound and a few weeks ago down on the Columbia.

Now for the bad news... As I was running maybe 25mph about 200 yards before entering the marina I was turning the boat slightly, steering felt a little stiff and then snap! Steering gone. Managed to make it back in no problem with a friend steering the outboard, which I may add swiveled fine and didn’t notice any binding spots. I have Teleflex steering and depending on how the outboard is trimmed can sometimes be a little stiff but figured this is pretty normal.

Here are some pictures, I had noticed this piece being about the only rusty piece on the outboard. What are my options? Pull the motor, and it looks like I need to replace the entire tube? I haven’t been able to find anyone else this has happened to online with a Honda. And nevermond the ball joint that is hooked up in the picture, was working on the steering for a kicker but not hooked up yet.

Thanks for any help!
Tommy

Can't really tell from the picture but it looks like the bolt hole that the steering bolts to is still ok in steering arm on motor, if the steering is bad and needs to be replaced then it is a major job to replace.
