Default BF8 will not discharge water

i had impeller go bad lately.
bought a replacement kit and installed.
when i was repalcing there was some melted impeller in the pump housing and i dug it our with a knife.
got everything back together and started motor.
not a drop of water out of either the back port or the side relief hoses that come thru the starboard side.

took bottom off again.
noticed the impeller fins were not all in the same direction and changed by rotating shaft clockwise when putting assembly on. took a house and stuck it up the inlet line tube hanging down from the motor. water came out slowly.
took off bell housing(???) located on the back of the shaft where i think some exhausted comes out( above waterline) put a pressurised hose into the right port and water came out the little starbord hose and the bottom of the line hanging down where i originally started putting water in.
at this point it looked like everywhere we put the hose water would come out somewhere.
put lower section back on. made sure water line slide down into bottom unti rudder guide.
started engine and nothing.

lets go back to when the impeller.broke.
i took off the lower screen where the water comes into the engine underwater.
it had lots of pieces of the impeller in it. cleaned it out.

heres the question.
could the lower intake from the screen up to the connection of the rubber guide be clogged??
i can't think of any other areas that could be a problem
could something be clogged infront or behind a thermostat??

help is kindly appricated.

thanks

dave

If impeller was melted then probably need to replace water pump housing as well, probably melted too.
