BF75 Cooling-Age

I just bought an older sailboat which includes a Honda BF 75 long shaft.
It seems to emit a very light trickle of water when at low rpm which increases at higher rpm to a decent stream. The water stream is quite hot. Does this sound like an impeller replacement and is it a pretty straight forward job on these motors? Do these motors have thermostats? There is no one close to my town who works on outboards.

The serial number is BF75-1102363. Can anyone tell me the age of the motor? Are these pretty dependable motors?

Probably need to replace water pump and thermostat. Here is the parts diagram.

Thanks for the link, but I did not see a thermostat listed. Also is it possible to learn the year of the engine?

It's a 1979 model year. The thermostat is number 7 in diagram
