Question BF50A prop question

I bought a 2002 50HP for my 161/2 foot deep V aluminum boat dule consoles, weights about 1000 pounds, use this boat for fishing only. The motor that was on it before was a 75hp two stroke(it through a rod). The 50hp came off a pontoon boat and the prop is a 11 3/4x10. The motor red lines with the throttle about 3/4 down and dosen't plain to quick. Need suggestions on a new prop, with a load of about 400 pounds the 50hp is pushing around 1400 pounds, was thinking i need a 12 or 13 pitch. Any thoughts.

Probably try a 13 pitch prop and check rpm's at full throttle.

Default Try Manufacturer site

You might want to go to a prop manufacturer site like PowerTech props. They have a form where you can fill in boat specifics and they will reply with the recommended prop. I just went through it and am very satisfied with the prop recommendation I got.
