Angry BF2D Idle Adjustment

Just bought a new BF2D and ran it in a barrel; started 2nd pull, allowed to warm up, pushed choke in, ran fine, reduced throttle to idle and it died. Then it restarted first pull, again at idle it died. So I restarted it, again first pull, and this time I backed off throttle very slowly and it idled fine as long as I didn't roll the throttle all the way off. I removed the cover and see the throttle cable, under the gas tank, is anchored with a threaded adjustment collar. My questions are: Would changing the collar adjust the stop? What size are the nuts on either side of the collar bracket? What wrench would I need? Would the gas tank have to be removed? Which way should it be adjusted to increase idle? Is this something an old farmer ought to try or should I take it back to the selling dealer? Thanks, Leon

The idle speed adjustment screw is on top of carb. Should idle at 1400 rpm's.
