BF130 - I'm back
I've been chasing this ghost for a while and can't figure it out. I'm two days away from a certified mechanic so I'm still hoping to figure this one out on my own. I'm almost to the end of my rope so any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Here it is:
1999 BF130 BZBE1004088
Started running rough about a year ago and would stumble and stall after a long idle. Always starts right up and if you lean into the throttle she'll go. I did a short circuit on the diagnostic plug and got three blinks on the MIL - faulty MAP Sensor. I changed it out along with the IAC valve, no luck. It's running really rich - if I put new plugs in it will run good for a few hours and then the plugs will foul - 1 and 2 cylinder aren't bad but 3 and 4 are solid black carbon.
I had a mechanic buddy come over (old school) and we looked it over yesterday. He said the same thing - it's running rich but no clue why. We cleared the code and checked it again and now I get a solid light - does the ECM go out in these things? Any recall, by chance? Believe it or not there is not a single Honda scanner in all of southern baja.
Like I said, any and all suggestions are appreciated.
