Default bf115a extension case (2003)

A gas leak filled my extension case completely with fuel overnight.
The rubber seal at the bottom edge of the extension case deteriorated at some point within 24 hours, and all of the fuel drained to the
floor. Planning to pull lower unit and extension case to replace the rubber
gasket. The key question, is it normal for gas to disolve a gasket
on a modern outboard? Can I assume there is other damage within the
extension case, being that it was full of Gas?

after disassembly, all is well. replacing a few rubber parts.

Yes gas will distort(especially gas with Ethanol) rubber gaskets designed for oil.
