Default BF 150 overheat

Last night, while cruising with some friends, I ran through some kelp. We were only going 7 knots, and I kept running for a few minutes. I didn't notice any indicator lights on my digital gauges, but when I went to throttle up a little bit, the buzzer sounded and the motor shut off. I realized what had happened, brought the outboard up, took off the kelp and re-started the motor. It ran fine afterwards. Do I need to worry about any damage?

During the time I ran through the kelp and the motor shut off, I looked back several times to make sure I had water coming out of my piss stream, and I did. So, I was always circulating some water.
