Default B75 Lower Gear Case Removal

I have a mid 80s 7.5 hp B75 Honda outboard. Trying to remove lower gear case to change water impeller. I have no service manual and have never worked on Honda outboards but have worked on many others. Need to know how shift shaft comes apart to get lower unit off. Many outboards have an access hole in middle of lower unit to get to a bolt in the shft shaft coupler. Nothing like that on this engine. Does the shaft just slip apart on splines or is there something else to getting the lower gear case off?
