Default b100l year and shift shaft adjustment

I have a b100l #1401545 and would like to know the year and where the shift shaft coupling is. It jumps into forward at idle and you can hear the clutch dog clicking before it jumps into gear. I think the previous owner failed to set the rod length properly after a water pump repair. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks in advance

It a 1982 model number BF100C. It might have some adjustment on shift linkage at engine, never tried to make adjustments.

I pulled the lower apart and there has been metal circulating in the lower. Needless to say it has destroyed the propshaft, gears and bearings. Are parts still available for these 80's vintage motors?
