Default B100 Idle/Shift Linkage

Unit runs well at throttle above idle, but notice it dies at neutral/shift position. Also notice that it appears the prop is moving water (in the drum) when in neutral. Is there supposed to be prop motion in neutral on these units?

The prop sometimes will free spin, with engine not running you should be able to spin prop in both directions when in neutral.

I guess I don't understand exactly what you mean "sometimes will free spin". I was under the impression that when the drive is in neutral, the prop shaft should not be engaged. When in neutral, it should free spin, when in gear it should be somewhat more difficult to spin. This unit is pushing water in neutral, and I want to make sure that it isn't stalling at idle because it is actually engaged vs. an idle adjustment setting.

Thanks for your reply.

It should be engaged in gear when in neutral whether engine running or not, the easiest way to check is with the engine not running and shift in and out of gear and spin prop to see if engaging in and out of gear.
