When I pulled the lower unit off, the vertical shaft came out with it. When I pulled the water pump cover off, the pinion shaft came up with it. The two shafts were stuck together. They came apart with a little persuasion. Do I just shove the shafts into their respective holes? Should I replace the oil seal for the pinion shaft? Is there a seal on the upper end of the vertical shaft?

What do the Pri. and Sup. in the parts list mean? Will either part work in my motor? Excuse me if this is a dumb question.
