Default 8hp fourstroke
can someone tell me what year this fourstroke is? all I have is the model#BF8AK5. The person selling this motor says it is a 2008 but it looks like it has the early 2000 cowling. Thanks for your help!

If the model is actually a BF8AKS (S not a 5), then it is a 1989. The AK designates 1989. The S designates short shaft (15").

The serial number would verify it, if you can get it.
