Default 85 b100s shift in gear kills motor

When I put in forward or reverse sometimes the motor is killed electrically. Sometimes it runs fine when shifting. Sometimes it runs fine when in gear then it will be killed a few minutes later. I replaced the nutral switch but that did not solve the problem. Is there some kind of short in the kill switch?

Look to see if shift linkage has rubbed into a wire on harness.

Default Engine dies randomly

Also check main ground that is near or on the neutral switch for corrosion. Check other connections for loose or corroded wires. Sometimes the "jolt" from a shift can be enough to break contact in a poor connection.
