i have a older 30 hp honda outboard, cleaned the carbs, new plugs, non ethonol gas was running now hard to start. has spark, new fuel but motor just turns but does not start, help.

Check the compression first
I don,t know how u cleaned the carbs but it needs to be soked in
A ultra sonic for a while, it is not like old 2 stroke carb, honda has very small
Holes and passages that you may not able to access. And these carbs
Need to be synced correctly in order to run right.
This is how i did at the shop
1. Run the motor with test tank . If it is carb problem
2. Check the main fuel tank. If it is fresh
3. Disassemble all 3 carbs and soke them in ultra sonic for an hour or so.
4 replace inline fuel filter and fuel/water seperator filter
5.Assemble carbs
5. Run the motor with test tank and let it warm up little bit
6. Adjust idle mixture screws ,sync all 3 carbs and adjust idle rpm
7. Check the desh pot
Total 2.5 hours or more
