2hp long shaft to short shaft conversion

Hi,
I have a 2hp air cooled unit that is a long shaft. It would appear there is a spacer placed in to make it long shaft. Can that be easily removed to create a short shaft motor? Would I need parts to make this happen? I am hoping the insert can be removed and there is a shaft extension that can also be removed and bang I will be off to the races. This is my first post here so thanks in advance for any help. Most appreciated.

Probably have to replace drive shaft, look at parts listing to see if list a shaft extension.
