Default 225hp was hard starting - now no elecrtic

My 225 hp sat for 1 yr. I put a fuel conditioner and 93 octane to help condition the old fuel. I was able to start, and ran good out of water on trailer. subsequent starting was very hard and an extra (appaerent) strain on the ignition/starting system. Boat ran good at 4000rpm 38knots... but after it stahled-out would not start, and I had to swim-tow back to dock. Now when I turn on the key, I get no ignition indicater lights and no power at the starter-motor. I have good battery power, and I have checked the fuse block under the cowelling.

Any suggestions as to where additional fuses are located? Why so hard to start. this is a 2004 outboard, with 65 hours only. Would like to know where I should look obvious problems that a shade-tree mechanic can work on? Do these engines have a computer read-out plugin like automobiles? THANK YOU TO ALL THAT REPLY!!!

Did you check the 90 amp fuse for the alternator? It's under a small black cover by the ECM and the other fuses.

I too have the same problem as you described... Does anyone know if and where a hand-held computer diagnostic plugs in at?
