  • Sunk her in the salt

I have a 2008 135 up 4 stroke. A big storm blew in Sat and sunk the old girl. We pulled her out, flushed all the fuel lines, flushed oil 3 times, washed everything down throughly and coated everything in corrosion x. She was running a couple hours later. Only one problem. The starter stays engaged and running the run position. If I remove the ignition wire from the starter it stops. I cleaned the ignition and key hole very well.

What should I check next. Please help guys.

Probably bad ignition switch, may see a lot of electrical problems.

You are going to have to replace the engine wiring harness- it traps water and salt causing all kinds of weird electrical problems.
