  • Honda 10HP Carburetor problem

Hi guys. I have a Honda BF10D 4 stroke, had it 12 months year 2000. The problem I have is its spluttering and not running smooth, also the engine stinks of Petrol when running. So I took the casing off and located where the petrol on the carb was coming from, its a rubber cone shaped ribbed bit that's split, its on the throttle mechanism, well the other side to where the throttle connects to carb. Would that be why my engine has been spluttering? Every so often it will clear and the revs shoot up and run smooth like it should, but then back to spluttering in seconds. Any help would be appreciated guys, I cant find the part when googling it and don't know whether that's the problem with my engine or its something else too.. Thanks in advance. Chris

That's may not be all the problem, fix the leak and if still not running good then remove and clean carb and replace float valve in carb.

No its actually on the carb the rubber i'm on about, its split. When the throttle turns the rubber compresses, opposite side to the throttle cable connection on carb. I cant even find an exact diagram to point out
Thanks for the reply Mod. I've spent all day looking for a labelled diagram lol

It's not too hard to replace, be sure and order a new clip they are easy to damage and very easy to loose it.
