I checked the distance from the drain holes to the water line. I measured 13 inches, so I don't think water is backing up.


I didn't have any problem for the first 9 years I owned the boat and motor. The water in oil problem cropped up year 10, and has really gotten bad this year, year 11.

Any other suggestions? How can I eliminate the head gasket as the problem?

Are there any ways to figure out where the water is getting into the oil?
